Bruder In 1978 Bruder entered the HO market with their Mini-Farmset, in 1982 they released eight simple (no glazing for example) near 87th scale plastic carmodels.
Bruder also made models for other companies, two of these sets are pictured here. The one on the left was made for Märklin who issued them as a set under their Primex subbrand, the one on the right was made for Piko. Other sets were made for Fanabri in Portugal (they sold the models as 'Gulliver Top Cars' in sets of four on blistercards) and for IHC (8 models in a set, ref# 1300) Pictured below are some copies of Bruder models, made by Top Car from Brazil. The copies have prints on them so they can be recognized easily. Copies of the Bruder models were also sold in Colombia, Miguel Plano told us that the first models appeared around 1985 and that he is not sure if they are still being produced today. The models have also been available in Colombia in fluorescent colours (including the tyres) about 10 years ago. These models were sold with a game called 'Rally', all packed together in a plastic bag. Later on these models were also sold without the game. The early pieces were of much better quality than the later ones, but of lesser quality then the German models. All Columbian models are marked 'Made in Colombia', and the Mercedes models have had their name removed from the bottomplate.
