Monogram Mini-Exacts

PIC-R  Herpa

In 1989 this popular manufacturer of bigger scale plastic kits presented a series of six 'Mini-Exacts' 1/87 models. The miniatures had plastic bodies and diecast bottom plates. The range was complemented in 1990 again with two editions of six models each and further expanded with racing car models, which are now rarer than the normal Mini-Exacts. Original Monogram models came in two packing types, a square box probably meant for counter display and in a triangle shaped blister pack with hole for rack mounting. Production ceased in 1991 but some moulds have been acquired by Herpa. With many improvements these models have been reissued by Herpa (i.e. Buick Grand National, Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1) and were also sold through ConCor in the USA ('Route 66' series).
