Wiking

Due to the fact that Wiking is the oldest and probably most famous manufacturer of car and truckmodels around, we thought that it was beyond the scope of this site to list all of the models Wiking ever made.

For a complete listing of all Wiking car and truckmodels we therefor would like to recommend the 'Gelbe Katalog'. This is a complete listing of car and truckmodels made since 1948, including all mould and colour variations. The 'Gelbe Katalog' is available from Marktpreis Verlag in Germany.

For this site, we will list several series of models that may be less known, picture odd and obsolete items and try to give you an idea of what this famous company has been upto throughout the years.

End of an era... in their e-mail newsletter of September 25th, 2008 Wiking announced that the will be leaving Berlin and that the complete production will be transferred to the Lüdenscheid factory by the end of 2008/early 2009.

WIKING nutzt Synergieeffekte

Die Firma WIKING Modellbau Berlin verlegt zur Jahreswende 2008/09 ihre gesamte Produktion ins Stammwerk nach Lüdenscheid, so wie die arbeitsintensiven Produktionsschritte in das Werk in Polen, um damit entsprechende Synergieeffekte nutzen zu können. Im Zuge der Schließung der Berliner Produktionsstätte haben alle in Berlin tätigen WIKING Mitarbeiter ein Angebot der Weiterbeschäftigung in Lüdenscheid erhalten.

Das Unternehmen bedauert, diesen Schritt gehen zu müssen, sieht darin aber die einzige Möglichkeit, die Wettbewerbsfähigkeit der Marke WIKING auch in Zukunft aufrecht erhalten zu können.
